New to internet? Choosing the right domain and hosting company is not an easy task. If you just started your internet adventure in having a website and need to learn from scratch keep reading below as I will help to figure things out.

Internet and website design is a very exciting business. You probably learned HTML, CSS and have some images and contents to set up your website. But how to publish it on the internet?

You will need a hosting company which is a service you pay to publish your website. There are plenty of hosting services out there including those free hosting that displays advertising along with your pages. I’m very found on a hosting company as you might noticed by the web banners I display on this page :-) , but there are many other companies out there. To choose the right one is going to depend on your type of business, the features your need on your website and mostly your budget. You can google for hosting companies reviews and see the chart comparison for these services, but before you do that I’d like to clarify you on some words you will come across when choosing your hosting company.

DISK SPACE:

When you hire a hosting company to host your web pages you’re actually paying for them to store your website into a computer so disk space became important.
Usually hosting companies offer you disk space in options or plans and you choose what is best for you.

Bandwidth or monthly traffic:

Besides the disk space that occupies the website, some hosting plans also limit monthly traffic of your website. The more hits a website has, the more traffic it generates, so it is essential to purchase a plan with the band “loose.” You never know when there may be a peak site visits, and is very unpleasant to find a webpage offline because the domain has exceeded their monthly traffic.

Control Panel:

Nowadays, the vast majority of hosting plans offer this feature.
Through the control panel you can access all the tools that the hosting offers, enjoying all of them without having to call technical support to the release. Access to site statistics, create email accounts, e-mail accounts and installation of additional resources are examples of what you can find the most common control panels. It’s important that your hosting company have a support
online 24/7 in case your website is down for some reason.

Statistics:

Although there are great free services to get your website statistics, almost all hosts
in the market offer this kind of tool. It is often very important to monitor information such as browsers and operating systems that users use (so you can tailor your site to as many visitors as possible), keywords used to reach it and links to third party sites that visitors clicked on to reach to you. Most of them have Google Analytics integrated.

Hope this information helped you to make a better decision on your hosting company for your website.
